New Disciple Makers

“The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” – Matthew 9:37 & 38
Does anyone come to mind from your congregation when you hear the words “future young harvest workers”? Write down all the ‘future’ workers in your church in the chat.
List a couple characteristics that make them stand out. Here are a few characteristics that might help: Passionate in the pursuit of God, authentic relationship-builder, leader and influencer, teachable, compassionate, and service-oriented.
Text or call three or four church members to ask them the same questions about identifying young harvest workers and their current strengths. Did they give you any new names or characteristics? Invite them to be praying for young workers.
It would be amazing for the next generation to bring glory to God because of how they saw Christ in our deeds. How did you see Jesus’ light shine through those discipling you when you were younger? Give five examples of life on life practices they used to show Christ’s love.
What were some of your favorite experiences with mentors? Write down the best things and things you longed for from mentors.
Make a strategy map for the next five weeks! Write ways you might be able to encourage young harvest workers.
With your past experience fresh in mind, what can you do over the coming five weeks to encourage the young harvest workers in your church? Write the person’s name and how you will encourage them.

Example: Send an encouraging text, call, make a meal, pray with them, study, gift (a book), help (serve physically), drop off a card, have fun (bowling, sports, etc).
