Fundraising for SOAR

Faith and Teamwork in Action

Why Fundraising Matters

Fundraising is about more than meeting financial goals; it’s an opportunity for your team to grow in faith and unity while involving others in the mission. Inviting your community to support you builds relationships, creates awareness, and allows others to play a vital role in what God is doing through SOAR.

Creative Fundraising Ideas

Host a Community Event

Organize a soup lunch, pie auction, or dessert evening at your church.

Share stories about your team’s mission vision during the event.

Engage Locally

Plan a garage sale or bake sale with team participation.

Add a personal touch by sharing your mission goals with attendees.

Steps to Fundraising Success

Start with Prayer

Pray for guidance and provision. Trust that God is at work in both your team and the people He calls to support you.

Build a Support Network

Develop a list of people to invite into your mission, including family, friends, your church community, and local businesses.

Send Personalized Letters

Write and send personal letters to potential supporters, including details about your team, the purpose of SOAR, and how they can get involved through prayer or financial contributions.

Host Team Events

Plan events that give your team opportunities to share their vision while raising funds. Encourage team members to take active roles in planning and hosting these events.

Show Gratitude

Keep a record of everyone who contributes. After SOAR, send thank-you notes or host a follow-up event to share stories and photos from your mission.

  • Fundraising is not just about raising money - it’s an opportunity for discipleship. Encourage your team to share what God is teaching them through the preparation process.
Invite supporters to pray with and for you as you prepare for SOAR.

Support SOAR

SOAR operates on donations from its participants. All funds submitted to Multiply for SOAR are considered a donation. To cover costs like venues, food, and general materials we asked that everyone coming on SOAR donate these amounts:

  • SOAR (full 7 days) - $350/person
  • SOAR EX (3.5 days) - $175/person

If raising these funds is a problem please contact the SOAR program coordinator. We don’t want finances to be a reason to not attend SOAR.

How do I submit funds to Multiply?

You can submit the funds a couple ways:

  • Send a cheque addressed to Multiply with notation that it is for SOAR Heartland and mail it to:
    #300 - 32040 Downes Road Abbotsford, BC V4X 1X5
  • Donate online at this link and ensure you put the organization name in the notes.
